Driver Features
Everyday, drivers connect riders with the people, locations, and moments that are most important to them. And sometimes, at least during the ride, drivers become a friend riders talk to and rely on.
And in the same way drivers have been there for our riders, listening to them, we at Uber have been listening to our drivers, too.
That’s why we’re excited to announce that today, we’re unveiling new driver features around earnings, flexibility, safety, and control to make the driving experience even better, based on the feedback shared with us.
Increased Driver Tokens
We’re increasing the number of tokens for driver destinations from two to four, so that for four trips everyday, you can set your destination and only get trips going along or near the route to your destination.
Cancellation Timer
We’re launching a Cancellation Timer, a timer that will start automatically after you arrive at your pick-up location that will show you how long you still have to wait before you’re eligible for a cancellation fee. The timer starts at 5 mins for uberX trips, and 2 mins for uberPOOL trips. But of course, you can still wait for the rider even if the time expires especially if you know he is already near.
Friendlier Ratings
We’re introducing Friendlier Ratings, which means that feedback for instances beyond your control like co-rider feedback, too many pick-ups, and route for uberPOOL, surge pricing, or application issues will not be counted on your overall driver ratings.
Not Right Now
We’re launching Not Right Now, a feature that allows you to decline a trip rather than wait for 15 seconds for the request to expire by clicking a button on the top-left corner of the application.
